Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign Montenegrin-born Serbia forward Slobodan Tedic.
After some extensive scouting watching the 19-year-old play for Serbian club FK Cukaricki, the Blues have been convinced to bring him to the Etihad with Serbian reports indicating a fee of 3 million euros. He will move in the January transfer window and compete for a spot in Under-23 games.
Nenad Mirosavljevic, football director at the Belgrade club, explained : “He’s been on City’s radar for a long time, with scouts often coming to see him.
"There have been game where we didn’t even know they were in the stands. They watched all of his games, his every move, which is quite normal for the world’s biggest clubs.
“When they officially contacted us, we easily and quickly agreed. This is a confirmation of our good work, but also the best possible marketing for Cukaricki, and for Serbian football in general”.
Tedic becomes the latest City capture for their academy in what has been a busy summer. Pedro Porro and Ryotaro Meshino have both been signed this summer and immediately loaned out to Real Valladolid and Hearts respectively while prospects Morgan Rogers (West Brom), Samuel Edozie (Millwall) and Liam Delap (Derby) have all been recruited from English clubs.
