Manchester City are 'actively pursuing' a deal to sign Lionel Messi from Barcelona ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports.
The global superstar had a very high-profile fallout with the Catalan giants over the summer and pushed for an exit, though he eventually agreed to remain at the Nou Camp.
However, the saga is far from over as Messi is still expected to leave Barcelona in 2021 as his contract comes to a close at the end of the season.
Barcelona, therefore, could cash in during the January transfer window and the Transfer Window Podcast claims that City are eyeing a deal.
It's suggested that City could take advantage of Barcelona's long-standing interest in Eric Garcia, who also sees his contract expire at the end of the season, with the defender potentially moving to Catalonia as a makeweight.
Overall, the proposed transfer is said to be worth around €90m, with two-thirds of that being cash and the rest representing Garcia's market value.
Furthermore, it's claimed that talks with Messi's entourage have been productive and it seems like this isn't the end of the rumours surrounding the Argentine star.
Elsewhere, Superdeporte journalist Rafa Marin claims that City are looking to raid Valencia once again, this time to land the services of Kang-in Lee.
City captured Ferran Torres from the cash-strapped Spanish outfit during the summer transfer window and have previously signed Joao Cancelo from the club.
South Korea international Lee is now firmly established as the superstar at Valencia but they face a major battle to retain his services ahead of future transfer windows.
Lee has two-years remaining on his deal and it's stated 'offers will not be lacking' and 'siren songs are flying already', with City specifically mentioned.
No active approach is mentioned, nor is a potential fee, and it's merely stated that there is interest from Pep Guardiola's side heading into 2021.
Given their early success with Torres, it wouldn't be too surprising to see City looking to raid Valencia for another player if the opportunity arose.
