Manchester City midfielder Rodri has admitted that it will be "impossible" for Pep Guardiola's side to catch Arsenal if the Gunners maintain their form.
Arsenal currently have a five-point lead over the Blues at the top of the Premier League table, while also having a game in hand. The London outfit have won 16 of their opening 20 top-flight matches this season, having lost just twice in the league.
Guardiola's men had the chance to close the gap on Mikel Arteta's side to just two points after Arsenal lost to Everton last weekend, but City failed to take the opportunity as they fell to a defeat at Tottenham Hotspur.

City are aiming to win a third successive league title this season, but the reigning champions have already lost four times this campaign - more than they did in the entirety of last term. Given Arsenal's relentless form - and their lead at the top of the table - Rodri has admitted that the Blues will need the Gunners to drop off if City are to win the Premier League title once again.
"Every year it's more complicated, the level of this league is tremendous and you have to win it with almost 90-odd points," he told DAZN. "We are calm, we know that there is a lot left and we are going in the right direction.
"It is true that Arsenal have had an impressive first half of the season. Obviously, if they maintain that level and are capable of doing the same in the second half, it will be impossible."
Arsenal and City will meet for the first time in the league this season on February 15 - with Guardiola's men travelling to the Emirates Stadium for the midweek clash. The two sides met in the FA Cup at the end of last month, and it was the Blues who progressed to the next round of the competition with a 1-0 victory.
