Man City ace Riyad Mahrez 'married in secret' to daughter of reality TV star

Riyad Mahrez has reportedly tied the knot with Taylor Ward, the daughter of reality television star Dawn.

The Manchester City winger, 30, and his model partner, 23, dressed in all white and undertook a ceremony known as the Nikah, signing contracts which make them legally married under Islamic law.

The pair got engaged during a holiday on the Greek island of Mykonos last June as Mahrez presented Taylor with a breathtaking ring worth £400,000.

The Algeria international - City's top scorer this season with 13 goals - went down on one knee during the vacation before popping the question.

Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn, 47, and former footballer Ashley, 51, were present to witness one of their four daughters become a fiancee.

Having bought a £2million house together last year, Mahrez and Taylor reaffirmed their commitment to each other by repeating the word "qubool" - meaning "I accept" - three times during their marriage ceremony.

As reported by The Sun, the nuptials took place late in 2021 and it was important for the player to follow the traditions of his religion.

A second, larger wedding is likely to follow after the first ceremony, which was described as 'short but sweet'.

Mahrez previously married Rita Johal in 2015 and he has two daughters with the 29-year-old.

The couple reportedly separated in February 2020 and it was confirmed the former Leicester ace was dating Taylor in October that year.

Mahrez's recent joy off the pitch reflects his brilliant performances on it this season, but City boss Pep Guardiola is without his services at present because he has joined up with Algeria for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The forward - who was born on the outskirts of Paris, France to an Algerian father and mother of Algerian and Moroccan descent - won the tournament in 2019 and serves as his country's captain.

With five assists also under his belt for his club this season, Mahrez will hope to carry over his brilliant club form to international level.

Algeria kick off their campaign against Sierra Leone on Tuesday before further group-stage clashes against Equatorial Guinea and Ivory Coast.

In the meantime, City take on Swindon Town in the FA Cup third round on Friday night before hosting Chelsea in blockbuster Premier League clash next Saturday.

The Sky Blues already have a commanding lead at the top of the table after a brilliant run of form over the festive period, establishing a 10-point gap to second-placed Chelsea.
