Man City 3 Wolves 0: Gabriel Jesus brace closes title gap on Liverpool

Gabriel Jesus continued his red-hot goalscoring form as Manchester City comfortably beat Wolves 3-0 to close the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool to four points.

Following his four-goal haul in the 9-0 EFL Cup demolition of Burton last week, Jesus with a starting spot while Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane, Bernardo Silva and David Silva offered further attacking options.

Jesus carried on where he left off against Burton as he gave City the lead inside 10 minutes. Aymeric Laporte's brilliant pass released Sane down the left and his cross was tapped in by the Brazil striker from close range.

Wolves were reduced to 10 men after 19 minutes when Willy Boly was shown a straight red card for a reckless tackle on Bernardo Silva.

Jesus added his second goal of the night - and seventh in three games - when he scored a 39th-minute penalty.

The striker sent Patricio the wrong way from the spot after Ryan Bennett brought down Sterling in the penalty area.

City added a third with 12 minutes left when substitute Kevin De Bruyne's inswinging cross from the left found its way into the net via a touch off Conor Coady.
