Man City 2 Hoffenheim 1: Leroy Sane double seals top spot in Champions League Group F

Leroy Sane's double helped Manchester City seal top spot in Champions League Group F with victory over Hoffenheim at the Etihad.

The German struck either side of half-time as City came from behind to win 2-1, after Andrej Kramaric's penalty had given Hoffenheim the lead.

Pep Guardiola's side had already qualified for the knockout stage with a game to spare, but needed a point to be certain of going through as group winners.

They got off to the worst possible start when Kramaric put the visitors ahead after Aymeric Laporte had conceded a clumsy penalty.

Gabriel Jesus and Nicholas Otamendi both hit the woodwork with headers before Sane's stunning free-kick on the stroke of half-time levelled the score.

Sane then missed a brilliant chance to put City ahead, opting to pass when teed up for an easy finish by Raheem Sterling.

However, he made no mistake when put through by the same man just minutes later, tucking past Oliver Baumann in the Hoffenheim goal.
