A man was chased into a Liverpool pub last night and stabbed three times in front of customers.

Police were called to The Brambles Pub, on St Oswald Street, just after 9pm on Thursday, October 8.

Officers say the victim was chased into the Old Swan pub before being stabbed three times by two men.

The two men are then believed to have approached the victim outside the pub on motorbikes, before chasing him inside and stabbing him in the torso.

They then made off from the scene on motorbikes in the direction of East Prescot Road.

Emergency Services attended the scene and the man was taken to hospital for treatment to three stab wounds.

His injuries are being described as not life threatening and he remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Detectives have launched an investigation to find those responsible and CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries are being carried out.

The suspects are described as dressed in black with one carrying a yellow shoulder bag.

Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said: "Knife crime can and does cause catastrophic consequences and it is only through good fortune that this appalling incident didn’t end in tragedy.

"Extensive enquiries are being carried out to find those responsible and I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the pub last night and saw anything to contact us.

"Similarly, if you were driving in the Old Swan area and captured any dashcam footage the please review it and let us know if you see the men on motorbikes described or anything or anyone suspicious.

"We rely on members of the public coming forward to remove weapons and those who use them from our streets so if you witnessed the incident or have any further information then please get in touch.

"Whether you contact us directly or anonymously, through Crimestoppers, all information we receive will be acted upon."
