An appeal has been launched after a man was chased by a gang of around eight young men and attacked.
The frightening ordeal for the 30-year-old victim happened in Barry.
The local man was in Fordd y Dociau approaching the footbridge towards Barry Island when he was chased towards Ffordd y Mileniwm by the gang on Monday, July 6.
As he was running away, the victim tripped and was assaulted by the group before they ran off.
Police said the attackers were aged between about 17 and 20.
A spokeswoman for South Wales Police said: "We want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the assault or who may have any information which will help us to identify those responsible."
