Man charged with strangling and raping two women in Scots home one year apart

A man has appeared in court charged with strangling and raping two women in his home.

Dylan Peacock, 24, is said to have forced himself on his alleged victims a year apart.

Prosecutors claim he raped the first woman between August 1 and 31, 2017, at his home in Barrhead, East Renfrewshire.

He is alleged to have abused the second woman between the same dates in 2018.

The charges against Peacock under Section 1 of the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009 were faced at Paisley Sheriff Court yesterday.

The first charge states he grabbed his alleged victim by the neck and raped her after pinning her down on a couch.

The second charge alleges he grabbed the other woman by the throat, restricting her breathing, and raped her after pinning her down to the sofa.

Peacock is then said to have grabbed her by the throat again and pinned her against a wall.

He made no plea to the two charges during the private hearing before Sheriff Iona McDonald.

The case was continued for prosecutors to investigate further.

Peacock was released on bail with special conditions.

He is now banned from approaching or contacting his alleged victims.

No future court dates have been set.
