Man charged with stabbing father

The court heard the 27-year-old man stabbed his father in the chest during an argument.

A 27-year-old man, who allegedly stabbed his father in the chest, has faced a Bunbury court charged with attempted murder.

Police allege Reuben George Di Lollo attacked his 57-year-old father with a knife in the bathroom of a house at Brookhampton, near Donnybrook, on Friday night.

Detective Senior Sergeant Jon Munday says the older man is in a serious but stable condition in Bunbury Hospital.

"He's very lucky, the knife narrowly missed his heart," he said.

"At this stage, he's still in a serious condition but he's stable."

Di Lollo was not required to enter a plea.

He has been remanded in custody to appear in the Supreme Court in Perth next month.

Editor's note, April 10, 2019: The attempted murder charge was withdrawn in July 2012 and replaced with one count of unlawful wounding. The matter was then sent to the District Court where Reuben George Di Lollo pleaded guilty in September 2012 and was given a 12-month conditional release order.
