A man has been charged with shooting another man during an argument last week in Lawndale on the West Side.
Joseph Jones, 43, of the 3100 block of West Flournoy Street, was charged with one felony count of aggravated battery with a firearm, according to Chicago police.
Jones was arguing with the 27-year-old victim about 4:40 p.m. on June 18 in the 3100 block of West Flournoy Street when the altercation turned physical, police said. Jones pulled out a handgun and shot the man in the abdomen.
The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where his condition was stabilized, police said.
Jones had an initial court appearance on June 20, when Judge Arthur Wesley Willis ordered him held without bail, according to police and Cook County court records. His next court date was set for July 18.
