June 15--An Austin neighborhood man has been charged with sexually assaulting an underage female relative after he repeatedly forced the girl to have sex and impregnated her, prosecutors said Sunday.
Duschisela Paucar Puli, 43, was arrested Friday at Lurie Children's Hospital after the teenage girl told her mother, prosecutors said.
On four or five occasions, Paucar Puli, of the 1000 block of North Massasoit Avenue, went into the teen's bedroom and forced her to have sex with him, even when she would cry, Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Jennifer Keating said.
The girl told police that Paucar Puli warned her not to tell anyone or she would regret it and people wouldn't believe her, according to court records.
When the girl told her mother, Paucar Puli denied having sex with her, but they took her to Lurie Children's Hospital and found the girl was pregnant, Keating said.
"It was consistent with the timing," Keating said.
Judge James Brown, shaking his head, ordered Paucar Puli held on a $5 million cash bond at a hearing Sunday on aggravated criminal sexual assault charges. Brown also ordered Paucar Puli not to have any contact with the victim or any family members under age 18. Paucar Puli is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
