A MAN has been charged with 'reckless conduct' after abseiling a block of flats in a Fife town.
He was descending one of the Ravenscraig Flats, in Kirkcaldy, when he got into difficulty at 30 feet.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called out to the incident just before 11pm last night and mobilised two appliances, one from Kirkcaldy and the other from Dunfermline.
The man was quickly attended to and helped down with a ladder.
A spokesperson for SFRS told The National: "At 10.48pm [we were called out] to reports of a male abseiling down a block of flats, who was now stuck, at approximately 30 feet.
"We mobilised one appliance from Kirkcaldy and one height appliance from Dunfermline, and at 11.16pm the male was successfully rescued with a ladder. There were no reported injuries from the incident."
Now, Police Scotland says the man has been charged in relation to the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Saturday, May 30, we received a report of concern for a man abseiling at Ravenscraig, Kirkcaldy. Emergency services attended and the man was rescued.
“He has been charged in connection with reckless conduct and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
