A man has been charged with the murder of Ricardo Fuller who was fatally stabbed in the neck as he left a nightclub in 2020.

The 24-year-old from Waltham Forest had been to a friend’s 30th birthday party at a nightclub on Ilford High Road on March 7 last year when he was attacked.

He staggered back inside the club but collapsed from his injuries.

Police and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene, with Mr Fuller taken to an east London hospital for treatment where he died a few hours later.

Emmanuel Tamwesigire, 29, was arrested at Heathrow Airport on Monday, July 12 after returning from overseas.

Later the same day, he was charged with Mr Fuller’s murder.

He will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 13.

Earlier this year, Mr Fuller’s mother, Vicky Fuller, said in a statement issued through the Met Police that Ricardo has been “denied of so many things”.

She added: “Life will never be the same”.

Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command continue to investigate Ricardo’s murder.

Anyone who can assist them by providing information should call the incident room on 0208 345 1570.
