A man has been charged with the murder of a 39-year-old woman following an alleged domestic violence incident in Western Australia over the Easter long weekend.
At about 7.45am on Easter Sunday, emergency services responded to a call at a residence on Fourth Street at the Mowanjum Aboriginal Community.
When they arrived, a woman was found unresponsive and was provided with immediate first aid. The woman was then transported to Derby Hospital, where she later died.
According to Western Australia Police Force, it’s alleged that the woman was assaulted by a man who was known to her and that the incident was family violence related.
A 38-year-old man was located at the scene and was arrested. Authorities allege the man breached a 72-hour police order issued the prior day and a protective bail condition.
Following the man’s arrest, he was charged with murder, breaching a police order and breaching of the protective bail conditions.

The man is set to appear before the Derby Magistrates Court today.
