Man charged with murder of 33yo in Brisbane's north

Robert Charles Frescon was found dead at Kelvin Grove on Friday.

A 21-year-old Gold Coast man has been charged with the murder of 33-year-old Robert Charles Frescon at a home in Brisbane's inner-north.

Mr Frescon was found dead by his sister at their family home on Hunter Street in Kelvin Grove on Friday afternoon.

Detective Acting Inspector Chris Toohey said a post-mortem examination conducted today confirmed Mr Frescon died as a result of a wound to his neck.

"At this stage it's still under investigation what implement was used," Detective Acting Inspector Toohey said.

Detective Acting Inspector Toohey said Mr Frescon and the man who had been arrested were known to each other, but would not say what the motive was behind the attack.

"I can say that the victim did know the offender," he said.

"Unfortunately because the investigation is still underway and we are discussing and talking with several people, we won't be able to go into what motive there was for this incident."

The man was arrested at Dutton Park, on Brisbane's southside, and voluntarily went into police custody.

He is due to appear in court on Monday.
