Police have charged a man with the murder of 26-year-old Ioli Hadjilyra, whose body was found in a north Brisbane park last week.
Investigators said council workers conducting routine maintenance in Kalinga Park found the young woman's body in a garden bed last Wednesday.
Police said she had suffered a number of injuries but her cause of death has not been released.
Police said it appeared as though attempts were made to disguise her body — which had "unexplained bruises and bleeding" — among the bushes in the park.
Bradley Scott Edwards, 34, was arrested in nearby Lutwyche about midday yesterday after members of the public alerted police.
The matter was briefly mentioned in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning, and was adjourned for a mention again on October 8.
Edwards did not appear.
