A man charged with the murder of a woman at a home in Sydney's west over the weekend has been refused bail.

Isaac Costa, 28, appeared at Parramatta Bail Court via audio-visual link this morning where no release application was filed.

Mr Costa was arrested at a Greystanes property on Brighton Street in the early hours of Saturday morning following reports of a domestic violence-related incident.

Police found the body of Anastasia Slastion inside the house, who they say was in a relationship with Mr Costa and was aged in her 30s.

He was taken to Granville Police Station and charged with murder.

Strike Force Alimah has been set up to investigate the circumstances surrounding Ms Slastion's death.

Mr Costa is expected to appear at Parramatta Local Court in mid-April.
