A man has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of another man in Dagenham, east London.
Metropolitan Police said in a statement 59-year-old Vasile Firanda had been charged with murdering 49-year-old Viorel Stefan, and had also been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm on a 55-year-old woman.
Police were called to a residence in Dagenham late on Saturday night after reports of a stabbing, and found Mr Stefan with life-threatening injuries.
Despite the efforts of ambulance personnel, he was declared dead at the scene.
Firanda will appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The woman’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
