Man charged with murder after shopkeeper stabbed to death in north west London while opening up his shop

A man has been charged with the murder of a shopkeeper who was stabbed to death while he opened up his shop in north-west London.

Alexander Stephen Gunn, 31, was charged with the murder of Ravi Katharkamar, 54.

Gunn, of no fixed abode, was also charged with robbery. He appeared in custody at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Friday April 5.

Gunn will next appear in custody at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 9 April.

Mr Katharkamar was pronounced dead outside his shop in Pinner at 6.46am on March 24.

Fundraising appeals have been launched to try to help Mr Katharkamar's grieving family.
