Man charged with murder after pregnant woman found dead in car boot

An Ipswich man has been charged with murdering his pregnant partner, whose body was left in the boot of a car in their backyard.

The body of Kardell Lomas was discovered in the car at the couple's Raceview home late on Tuesday afternoon.

The 31-year-old was 24 weeks pregnant.

Police would not say how she died or how long her body had been in the car.

Her 36-year-old partner was arrested that night.

Last night he was charged with murder, unlawful assault of a pregnant woman and misconduct with a corpse.

He appeared briefly in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today.

His family wiped away tears as he sat in the dock.

As Mr Fisher was leaving the court he told his supporters he loved them.

Mr Fisher was remanded in custody to appear again on January 15.
