Man charged with murder after casualty left outside hospital appears in court

A man charged with murder appeared at Bristol Crown Court.

Polish national Tomasz Urbaniak, 36, of no fixed address, is charged with murdering Lukasz Grabowski from Bristol.

Mr Grabowski died after being left outside Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with serious head injuries on November 21 last year.

A charge of unlawfully killing Mr Grabowksi has also been put to Urbaniak, who was arrested in Goluski, Poland, last week and brought to the UK on a European arrest warrant.

Bearded Urbaniak did not make a plea during an 11-minute hearing in which he was helped by a Polish solicitor as no interpreter was present.

Abimbola Johnson, representing Urbaniak, made no application for bail and he was remanded in custody

Another Polish national Krzystof Solosciuk, 38, of Pound Drive in Fishponds, has also been charged with murdering Mr Grabowski.

Both men face an estimated five week trial at Bristol Crown Court starting on October 21.
