Man charged with murder after 66-year-old man found dead at a property in Southall

Met Police detectives investigating the murder of Michael O’Donnell have charged a 54-year-old man with murder.

Officers from Met Police were called to Samara Drive at 10.56am on Wednesday, April 23 by London Ambulance Service, following concerns for the welfare of a man.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, a 66-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later named as Michael O’Donnell.

A 54-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident has now been charged, Met Police confirmed.

Christopher Donnelly, 54, of Samara Drive, Southall, was charged on Sunday with murder and fraud by false representation.

He was set to appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates Court later on Monday.

A 28-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed pending further enquiries.

Mr O’Donnell’s family continue to be supported by officers and have been informed of this development.
