A man has been charged in connection with a murder investigation in Ellesmere Port .
Steven Carey died after suffering serious injuries in a disturbance on Saturday night.
Ben Wilkinson has been charged with the murder of the 31-year-old and is due to appear in court today.
Police were called to reports of trouble on Pooltown Road at 8.46pm on March 14.
Officers found injured Mr Carey, who was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital.
He was later pronounced dead.
The investigation sparked by the incident led to several roads being cordoned off on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
Cheshire Police has now confirmed Wilkinson, 25 and from Ellesmere Port , has been charged with murder and threatening a person with a bladed article in a public place.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Chester Magistrates' Court today.
Two other men who were also arrested in connection with the incident – one aged 25 and one aged 35 – have been released with without charge.
