Man charged with machete murder bid on Robert Daniel at Glasgow dump

A man appeared in court on Friday charged with attempted murder following an incident at a Glasgow dump.

It's claimed Ryan Quinn attacked Robert Daniel, 41, by repeatedly striking him on the head with machetes on September 11.

The 22-year-old is said have acted with others during the incident at Dawsholm Reclycing Centre near Anniesland.

Quinn is also accused of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

It claimed a car used in the alleged crime was set on fire at a cycle track between Kelso Street in the city’s Yoker and the River Clyde.

Quinn made no plea during a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

He was remanded to custody and is expected to appear in court in eight days time.
