A man has been charged with the murder of his 75-year-old mother after her body was found at a home at Mango Hill, north of Brisbane, yesterday.
The 50-year-old Rothwell man was arrested and taken to hospital with serious self-inflicted injuries.
He is due to appear at a bedside hearing later today.
Emergency services were called to a home in Topaz Drive about 1:00pm on Thursday where a large blood stain was visible outside the front door of the property.
The front of the house remains cordoned off with police tape.
