Man charged with killing cousin over $45 debt

ST. CHARLES, Mo. _ An argument over personal items and a $45 debt led to a homicide in St. Charles Saturday night.

According to St. Charles police, Joseph Lacombe, 26, was shot by his cousin, Lamont Lacombe, 27, in the 2500 block of Chesstal Street about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Lamont Lacombe, who police said confessed to the shooting, was charged Sunday with second-degree murder.

Police found Joseph Lacombe on the street, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he died, police said.

Police said the argument was over personal items and a $45 debt owed to Joseph Lacombe.

Both cousins are from St. Charles. Lamont Lacombe is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
