A man has been charged with grooming and sexually abusing a 14-year-old schoolgirl.
James Prytherch, 33, is alleged to have sent the girl links to porn websites as part of a grooming campaign earlier this year.
He is now charged with meeting a child following grooming, six counts of sexual activity with a child and one of engaging in sexual communication with a child.
According to the charges, he persuaded her to perform sex acts while "not reasonably believing she was 16 or over."
The sexual communication charge states that the defendant: "For the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, intentionally communicated with (the complainant), 14 years, a person under 16 who you did not reasonably believe to be 16 or over, the communication being of a pornographic nature namely sending internet links, exposing the victim to pornographic content."
Prytherch, of Cheviot Avenue, appeared at Liverpool Magistrates' Court this morning where the case was sent to Liverpool Crown Court.
Prytherch, who was charged yesterday, was remanded in custody and will next appear on October 4.
