Man charged with fatal shooting in Austin

A man was charged with fatally shooting a 27-year-old man Nov. 4, 2020, in Austin. | Sun-Times file photo

A man has been charged with the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man earlier this month in Austin on the West Side.

Denzel Ollison, 26, was charged with first-degree murder for the Nov. 4 shooting of Mitchel Barber, Chicago police said.

Ollison allegedly shot Barber about 11:20 a.m. in the 5800 block of West Superior Street, police said. He was arrested Monday afternoon.

Ollison, who lives in Austin, is due in bond court Wednesday.
