A man is accused of driving drunk and causing a fatal crash over the weekend in Galewood on the Northwest Side.
Anthony Pittman, 35, is charged with aggravated driving under the influence and was cited with failure to reduce speed in the death of Abraham Hernandez-Rodriguez, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
About 3:40 a.m. Saturday, Pittman was driving a Chrysler 300 in the 6300 block of West North Avenue when he rear-ended Hernandez-Rodriguez, 42, who was driving a Chevy Trailblazer, authorities said.

Hernandez-Rodriguez was taken to Loyola University Medical Center, where he died, authorities said. An autopsy determined he died of multiple injuries related to the crash.
Pittman, of Austin, was arrested a short time later and taken to an area hospital, police said.
