A Crystal Lake man is accused of causing a crash that killed a motorcyclist while driving drunk Tuesday in the northwest suburb.
Robert Roth, 69, is charged with two felony counts of aggravated DUI resulting in death and two misdemeanor counts of DUI, the McHenry County sheriff’s office said.
About 4:40 p.m., Roth was driving a black SUV north on Route 31 when he hit a northbound silver SUV near Drake Drive, the sheriff’s office said. The silver SUV veered into oncoming traffic and hit a motorcycle.
The man on the motorcycle was taken to Northwestern Hospital in McHenry, where he died, the sheriff’s office said.
Roth is due in court June 18.
