A man is suspected of driving an Iceland supermarket delivery van involved in a crash while allegedly over the drink-drive limit
Police were called to Prenton, Wirral, late last night following reports the vehicle had been involved in a collision, and it was being driven with a very flat tyre.
Officers found the Iceland van on Prenton Dell Road close to the junction of Prenton Hall Road, at about 11.15pm.
The driver was detained at the scene, and following a search, a quantity of white powder was seized.
A photograph taken at the scene by police appeared to show significant damage to one of the front wheels of the Iceland van.
Chad Lewis Basnett, 23, of Parkside Road, Bebington was arrested and later charged with drink driving and possession of cocaine.
He was remanded in custody and was set to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court on Monday afternoon.
