A 35-year-old man has been remanded in custody over the death of a woman in Melbourne's north-west on Saturday.
William Wilson did not appear in the Melbourne Magistrates Court, but was represented by his lawyer, who did not apply for bail over the charge of dangerous driving causing death.
Keilor Downs woman Helena Broadbent, 32, died in hospital after falling from a moving car as it went around a corner.
Her baby was delivered via caesarean section and is in a critical condition.
Police allege the pair knew each other and got into the car after an altercation at a Kiwi Retreat home on Saturday afternoon.
Mr Wilson is due to appear in court on October 2.
Brother remembers 'beautiful, caring mum'
Ms Broadbent's brother, Paul Broadbent, said she was five months pregnant and was already a mother to two young girls.
"She was a beautiful, caring mum. She loved those two kids. And she was so looking forward to the new one on the way," he said.
"[I] just can't believe it. That's my baby sister. Gone.
"I've always loved her. Best sister anyone can have, anyone.
"Just a beautiful girl, gone way too early."
Neighbours said they were shocked after the incident and some laid flowers at the scene.
"[I have] feelings I can't explain, I feel sorrow," neighbour Ivan Sucic told the ABC.
"I know that poor baby is going to grow up without a mother and that is devastating," neighbour Gurdev Rayat said.
