Man charged with attempted murder in Perth

A man made a brief appearance in private at Perth Sheriff Court on Tuesday afternoon, charged with attempted murder.

It followed an incident in Perth city centre in the early hours of Saturday morning when a woman, in her 30s, was allegedly attacked with a bladed weapon.

The assault was said to have taken place in the Carpenter Street/Kinnoull Street area, near the King James Pub, at about 1am.

Twenty-year-old Brandon Bloice, previously of Crieff and now understood to be living in Perth, made no plea and his case was continued for further inquiries.

He was remanded in custody pending a further court appearance next week.

He faced a charge of assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement and attempted murder.

Witnesses who were first on the scene helped the injured woman to keep pressure on a wound to her body and summoned an ambulance who took her for treatment to Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital.
