Emergency services raced to the scene and the store, situated on Dalmarnock Road, was quickly evacuated and locked down by officers.

Police also cordoned off the front of the shop while enquiries were carried out.

Footage taken at the time showed at least ten police cars and a large police van parked outside the store.

An ambulance was also seen parked in the car park, with its back doors open.

Confused customers could be seen standing outside.

A 25-year-old woman was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to her injuries.

Her current condition is not yet known.

Cops have now confirmed that a 34-year-old man has been charged in relation to the incident.

Along with attempted murder, he also faces charges for permanent disfigurement and assault to severe injury.
