Man charged with attempted murder after three injured in broad daylight shooting in east London

A 22-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting that left three people injured in Newham earlier this week.

Mohammed Abdullah Khan, of Upton Lane, is accused of shooting a 33-year-old man at a property on Dunbar Road at around 2.42pm on Tuesday, April 29. He has also been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of a prohibited firearm.

Another man, Mohammed Qasim Khan, 37, of Sprowston Road, has been charged with grievous bodily harm and violent disorder in connection with the same incident.

Both men are due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 3 May.

Police and London Ambulance Service paramedics responded to reports of an altercation and found one man with a gunshot wound and two others with facial injuries. All three victims were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Both suspects were arrested shortly after the incident and remain in police custody.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact the Metropolitan Police on 101, quoting 4319/29Apr, or to report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
