Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing in Harehills street

Police have now charged a man with attempted murder after an incident in Harehills last week.

A 37-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in Bexley Grove, Harehills, on Thurday (October 24) and rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

West Yorkshire Police arrested three men shortly aftert the incident, and have now charged one man, 41-year-old Daniel Cunningham, with attempted murder.

A second man, 52-year-old Stephen Catterill, has been charged with perverting the course of justice. Both remain in custody and will appear at Leeds Magistrates Court today (Monday).

The victim is now in a stable condition in hospital and is continuing to recover from his injuries.

A 48-year-old man who was arrested in connection with this incident was released without charge.
