Detectives have charged a man with attempted murder after another man was stabbed in the neck.

Merseyside Police were called to the junction of Summers Avenue and Stewart Avenue, Bootle, at around 5.10pm on Saturday June 6 to reports of a serious assault.

At the scene officers found 39-year-old Darren Nolan with a stab wound to his neck and lacerations to his arm and torso.

Mr Nolan was rushed to hospital but fortunately his injuries did not prove to be life threatening.

A 26-year-old woman from Litherland was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding, and a man was arrested in the following days.
