A man has been charged with attempted murder after an alleged fire attack on an Inverclyde home.
Cops have said a 51-year-old has been charged in connection with the horror blaze on Holmscroft Street, Greenock on Monday, November 2.
He is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court today.
Detective Superintendent Gerry McBride of Renfrewshire and Inverclyde Division said the arrest showed progress was being made after the spate of fireraisings in the town.
A number of properties in Greenock have been hit with fire attacks recently- with a man being killed amid a flurry of violence in September.
Cops launched Operation Tell in relation to the attacks.
He said: “This most recent arrest and charge shows the progress we are continuing to make in relation to our investigations into recent fireraising’s in the area.
“Once again, I’d like to thank the public and our partners for the support we have received during this time.
"Investigations are still ongoing and I would continue to urge anyone with information to please contact police.”
