A man has been charged with five counts of attempted murder after a car hit five pedestrians on Ealing Broadway on Saturday.
Three people were taken to hospital after the incident on the busy west London road at around 2:30pm.
Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) London conducted initial inquiries, but it is not being treated as terrorism.
Somalia-born Timir Ahmed Mohamed, 34, of Grange Park, Ealing, has also been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis and criminal damage, the Metropolitan Police said.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
None of the injuries were life-threatening or life-changing, and the two who were not taken to hospital received treatment at the scene.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We sent a number of resources including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, a volunteer emergency responder crew and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated three patients at the scene and took one of them to a major trauma centre by road as a priority. The other two patients were taken to a local hospital.”
