Man charged with attempted murder after alleged West Lothian chainsaw attack

A man has been charged with attempted murder after an alleged chainsaw attack in West Lothian.

Several police vehicles and a helicopter were deployed to Rowan Place in Blackburn at around 10.10pm on Wednesday evening.

One 35-year-old man was allegedly left with serious injuries to his arm in the in the incident reportedly involving a chainsaw, but is believed to be in a stable condition.

Another was also hurt at the scene, but his injuries have been described as minor.

Police arrested a man last night but have now confirmed he's been charged with attempted murder.

A statement from West Lothian police read: "Detectives can confirm a 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder in West Lothian.

"Police were called to the Rowan Place area of Blackburn around 10.10pm on Wednesday, 6 May, 2020, following the attempted murder of a 35-year-old man.

"The 23-year-old man is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, 11 May, 2020. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
