A man has been charged with assault after a woman was allegedly attacked outside a south London nightclub on New Year’s Day.
Andrew Akingbaje, 23, from Brixton, has been charged with actual bodily harm following the alleged assault on Clapham High Street, at 4am on Tuesday.
He has also been charged with two counts of assault by beating against two other women who were also allegedly attacked during the same incident.
Akingbaje, of Poplar Road, is due to appear in custody at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
A video of the alleged violence has been widely shared on social media.
It comes as a security guard and young mother were both stabbed to death in the early hours of New Year's Day.
Tudor Simionov and Charlotte Huggins, both 33, were killed in separate incidents within the first six hours of the new year. Their deaths come after the capital recorded the highest number of homicides in a decade last year.
