Man charged with arson over fire at Golders Green memorial wall

• Ali Fallahi, 45, from Ilford, has been charged with arson following a suspected attack at a memorial wall in Golders Green , north London.
• The incident, which occurred on 27 April, involved a fire allegedly started in a memorial cabinet next to the wall, prompting a counter-terrorism police investigation.
• Fallahi is accused of damaging by fire a memorial cabinet belonging to Miga Rally and is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
• The memorial wall, established by the Miga Rally community group, commemorates victims of a crackdown in Iran and those killed in the 2023 Hamas attack on the Nova music festival in Israel.
• The fire was quickly extinguished and did not spread to the wall itself, with Miga Rally condemning the attempt to damage a place of remembrance.
