Man charged with alleged serious assault of another male in Airdrie town centre

Police have charged a 31-year-old man with the alleged serious assault of another male in Airdrie town centre.

The incident took place on Stirling Street on June 12 and the man allegedly attacked was 52-years-old.

The male charged is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court at a later date.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for any information which could help trace two women also allegedly involved in the incident.

They are both described as being white Scottish, between 14 and 16 years old and of slim build.

Detective Sergeant Mark Nelson told Lanarkshire Live : “I’d like to thank the public for their assistance with this investigation so far, following our previous appeal.

“We’d ask anyone with further information to please call 101, quoting incident number 4214 of Saturday, June 12. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
