Man charged over police chase involving stolen truck full of baby formula

A man who allegedly led police on a chase in a stolen truck loaded with baby formula has been charged.

Police alleged the white Hino table top truck was taken from an address at Milperra and that its large load of baby formula was stolen separately in a break and enter at Regents Park.

Traffic and highway patrol officers tried to pull over the driver of the truck in Eldridge Road at Condell Park about 7:35am on Tuesday.

The driver allegedly refused to stop and police initiated a pursuit but terminated it shortly afterwards due to safety concerns.

Officers found the truck loaded with dozens of tins of baby formula at a nearby industrial complex.

They arrested a 39-year-old man and charged him with failing to stop, driving while disqualified and two first instance warrants.

Police said they were continuing to investigate the theft of the truck and the baby formula.

The man faced Bankstown Local Court on Tuesday where he was refused bail.

He will return to court in November
