A man will face court today charged over the alleged carjacking of a surfer and the armed robbery of a pharmacy on the Central Coast more than three years ago.
About midday on Tuesday June 14 2016, a 41-year-old man was approached by two men as he returned to his car after surfing at Norah Head.
The surfer was allegedly assaulted before the two men stole his car - a silver Holden SS Commodore ute.
About 8pm that evening, two men wearing balaclavas and dark hooded tops entered a pharmacy on Wallarah Road, Gorokan.
One of the men allegedly threatened the female pharmacist and two assistants with a pistol, demanding cash and drugs.
The pharmacist handed over cash and prescription drugs, before the men ran from the store and drove away in the stolen ute.
Local police attended both locations and despite extensive searches of the area, no one was located.
Detectives from the State Crime Command's Robbery and Serious Crime Squad established Strike Force Braithwaite to investigate the incidents.
One man - then aged 22 - was arrested by investigators in January 2018, and charged with take and drive conveyance.
Following further extensive investigations, strike force detectives served a court attendance notice on a 36-year-old man at a facility at Malabar on Thursday July 25.
He has been charged with robbery armed with dangerous weapon and be carried in conveyance taken without consent.
The man is due to appear at Wyong Local Court on Wednesday. Investigations are continuing.
