Man charged over death of son, 3, in Cyprus will attend UK funeral

  • A British man charged with negligence following the death of his 3-year-old son at a Cyprus hotel has been granted permission to return to the UK for the boy's funeral.
  • The court lifted all travel restrictions on the 37-year-old for one month, with the order expiring on 15 September.
  • He is required to return to Cyprus by 15 September to face charges, otherwise a European arrest warrant will be issued.
  • The man was arrested and charged after his son fell from a fourth-floor window during a family holiday in Paphos earlier this month, though the circumstances remain unclear.
  • He was previously released on condition of surrendering his passport, weekly police check-ins, and a 20,000-euro bond.
