Man charged over death of Gary More a year after fatal Airdrie shooting

A man has been arrested and charged over the death of a man a year after he was shot outside his home in Airdrie.

Gary More, 32, was shot outside his house on Gartness Drive around 8.10pm on Thursday September 6.

Police , including armed officers and a helicopter, and ambulance crews raced to the scene at the North Lanarkshire town, where the fitness instructor was found with serious injuries.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged and is due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday October 21.

Detective Superintendent Allan Burton of the Major Investigation Teams said: “This has been a long and complex investigation however Police Scotland is determined to bring justice for Gary's family.

"This arrest has been achieved through the dedication of the officers and staff working on the enquiry, however the work is not yet done, and we will continue our efforts to ensure all those involved in Gary’s death are brought before the courts to answer for their crimes.”
