A man has been charged in connection after a young woman was allegedly assaulted in Hamilton.
The incident took place at around 9.20am on Friday, January 21 in the Pollock Avenue area of the Lanarkshire town.
A 26-year-old man has been arrested and is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday, February 4, 2022.
It comes after a 21-year-old was allegedly pushed to the ground and attacked while out walking.
The suspect ran in the direction of Pollock Avenue and was last seen running into the adjoining Argyle Drive.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Man charged in connection with sexual assault in Hamilton.
"Police Scotland can confirm that a 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a sexual assault in Hamilton.
"The incident took place around 9.20am on Friday, 21 January in the Pollock Avenue area.
"He is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday, 4 February, 2022."
