Man charged over alleged Illawarra murder

A NSW man has been charged with murdering a 31-year-old man who was found dead in his Illawarra home last year.

Police were called to Thomas Street, Lake Illawarra, on August 23 following reports the body of a man had been found inside a home.

The man has since been identified as 31-year-old Matthew Davis.

Police from Strike Force Sienna arrested a 65-year-old man at a home on Belfast Avenue, Warilla, on Wednesday.

He was charged with murder and refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on Thursday.
